Patriots continue to make headlines for the wrong reasons

Just two weeks removed from the arrest of (now) former tight end Aaron Hernandez for the murder of Odin Lloyd, the people working in the New England Patriots' front office again find themselves faced with the decision of cutting ties with a troubled player. Alfonzo Dennard, a seventh round draft pick by the Pats in 2012 -he fell to the seventh round because he was convicted of assaulting a police officer- was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Omaha, Nebraska, according to The Omaha World-Herald. Every year players are reminded by their coaches to stay out of trouble and be smart during this brief time off. Yet, every year there are players who find themselves in handcuffs. And one would think that with all the scrutiny that the Patriots organization has been under since Aaron Hernandez was first listed as a suspect in the Lloyd murder case, that every player and member of the Patriots would understand that they need to stay low and not put themselves in a position to risk pouring any more negative publicity on the team, right? Well, apparently Alfonzo Dennard believes otherwise.

Honestly, it's not hard to stay out of trouble. I understand it's different for professional athletes because when you're rich and famous everybody wants to be your friend. But, drinking and driving can be avoided so easily. Why does he need to go out to drink? Stay home and do it! If players really want to go out to the clubs so bad then have a designated driver! What the hell is wrong with these guys?! I swear, my six year old cousin knows better.
