Each Team's 2013 Breakout Player: AFC East

Bills: Stephon Gilmore- Drafted No.10 overall in 2012, Gilmore -- like most rookies -- had an up and down first year in the league. He's a very skilled cover corner and he should only continue to get better. The Bills switched to a 3-4 defensive front this offseason and it could result in more pressure on opposing quarterbacks, giving the likes of Gilmore more opportunities to make plays.
Other candidates: Nigel Bradham, Mario Williams, and Jerry Hughes
Dolphins: Lamar Miller- Miami chose not to re-sign Reggie Bush in the offseason because they were confident in the running backs on their roster; specifically Lamar Miller. Entering his second season, the starting running back role is Miller's to lose. He has good size (5'11" 212lbs) and was impressive in his rookie season. Reports indicate he's had a good offseason and is ready to shoulder the load. Expect some big things from this guy.
Other candidates: Olivier Vernon and Jared Odrick
Jets: Chris Ivory- After spending his first three seasons in New Orleans where he stuck behind several running backs on the depth chart, Ivory was traded to Jets during this year's draft. The 6'0", 222-pounder is a bruising back with surprising speed. He's only carried the ball just 256 times in his career and when he was given the chance to play, he impressed. Jets coach Rex Ryan will likely go back to a ground-and-pound style offense where Ivory will thrive.
Other candidates: Stephen Hill, Jeff Cumberland, Quionton Coples, and Demario Davis
Patriots: Shane Vereen- With Danny Woodhead a member of the Chargers, Vereen is now the Patriots third down and change of pace back. There will be no drop off in production, if anything, Vereen will be more productive than Woodhead was. He is a quick and decisive runner and a very polished receiver. I expect Vereen to have a terrific sophomore campaign.
Other candidates: Chandler Jones, Danny Amendola, Marcus Cannon, and Donta Hightower
